Step-by-Step Valve Selector

Answer each question in order. Stop as soon as you have a clear match.

Step 1 – How many ports do you need?

  • 2-port (on/off single zone): Both valves are 2-port – continue to Step 2.
  • 3-port (mid-position / diverter): Neither valve listed here is a 3-port. Contact us for a 3-port recommendation.

Step 2 – What is your pipe size?

  • 22mm: Both valves are 22mm – continue to Step 3.
  • 28mm or other: Neither valve is a direct fit. Contact us before ordering.

Step 3 – What is your mains voltage?

  • 230–240V AC (standard UK mains): Both valves are compatible – continue to Step 4.
  • 24V or other low voltage: Neither valve is suitable. Please verify your system voltage before ordering.

Step 4 – Do you need a built-in auxiliary / end switch?

An end switch signals the boiler or pump to fire once the valve is fully open. Most S-plan and Y-plan systems require one.

  • Yes, end switch required → Honeywell V4043H 1056. It has a built-in aux switch included.
  • No end switch needed, or actuator will provide it → Danfoss HP22 087N6609 (check your chosen actuator's datasheet for switch provision).
  • Not sure: Check your existing valve label or wiring centre documentation. If in doubt, choose the Honeywell V4043H – it includes the switch as standard.

Step 5 – Complete valve body or shoe body only?

  • Complete unit (body + actuator + cable), ready to fit: → Honeywell V4043H 1056 – everything included.
  • Replacing a Danfoss shoe body only (keeping your existing Danfoss actuator): → Danfoss HP22 087N6609 – shoe body only, compatible with Danfoss AMV/AMVS actuator range. Confirm actuator model compatibility against the Danfoss datasheet before ordering.

Step 6 – Confirm the exact part number before ordering

  • Honeywell: confirm label reads V4043H 1056 or V4043H1056.
  • Danfoss: confirm label reads HP22 and code 087N6609.
  • If your existing valve has a different suffix or code, contact us to verify compatibility before purchasing.
